Terms of Service

Draft terms for using howk, managing your content and maintaining your account.

Draft updated: Draft version 0.1

The service

howk provides a workspace for separate professional profiles, multilingual portfolios, CVs and cover letters, document versions, a contact book and Persona notes. The current AI feature prepares an export you can take to an external tool of your choice.

The person or business operating the service will be identified on the Imprint page. This working draft is not an effective contract or an offer of a paid subscription.

Accounts and access

Use an email address you can access, protect your password and report suspected unauthorised access. Publishing a portfolio requires email verification. Registration may be restricted to invitations depending on the service’s availability.

Age limits, legal capacity, any parental permission and how the terms are accepted during registration have not been finalised. The final terms will specify these requirements.

Your content and other people’s rights

Rights in your content are intended to remain with you or the relevant rights holder. The final agreement will limit the permission needed to operate the service to storing and formatting content, generating documents and displaying content you choose to publish.

Only add information you are entitled to use and share. Do not impersonate others, infringe intellectual-property or personal rights, upload harmful content or attempt to bypass access controls. Use information about other people in your contact book lawfully.

Profiles, images and documents

Each profile is maintained separately; changes to one are not copied automatically to another. You provide translations, and missing translations may fall back to the primary language. Check the accuracy of portfolios and documents before sharing them.

Public portfolios are accessible to visitors and search engines. The image library is not designed for confidential files; direct image links may be accessible regardless of profile visibility. Locked document versions are preserved separately from later profile changes. You decide which downloaded files and copies to share.

Persona and external AI services

Persona notes are not automatically added to your public portfolio or CV. AI exports may include private profile fields, hidden entries and Persona notes enabled for inclusion. New notes currently have this setting on by default; check it before sharing.

You select the external AI service and share the export yourself. That service operates under its own terms. howk’s current feature does not generate career advice or promise employment outcomes or accurate AI responses.

Capacity and future paid plans

Capacity limits may apply to profiles, content, files, document versions or contacts. The applicable limits are shown in the application’s plan and usage information.

Paid-subscription collection is not implemented in the current application. This draft does not authorise card charges or automatic renewal. Before a paid plan is offered, the seller, total price and taxes, billing period, renewal, cancellation, withdrawal and refund terms must be specified separately.

Availability and notices

Maintenance, technical problems or security needs may affect access. Keep your own copies of important documents. Support and unlawful-content reporting channels will be completed on the Imprint page.

Restrictions for misuse, notice, appeal and termination procedures, communication of service changes and liability provisions require final legal review. This draft does not waive mandatory consumer rights or statutory responsibilities.

Closing your account

You can export account data and request deletion in Settings. The current workflow disables the account and schedules deletion after a seven-day cancellation window. Retention exceptions and backups are addressed separately in the Privacy notice.

If you want public profiles removed immediately, unpublish them before requesting account deletion. Downloaded files and copies shared with third parties are not recalled by deleting your account.

Applicable law and changes

Applicable law, dispute-resolution channels and any required consumer-dispute information will be determined according to the operator and target markets. This draft does not select the exclusive jurisdiction of any country’s courts.

The final effective date, significant-change notification process and any required renewed acceptance will be added separately.
